I saw tank used seriously in GW 4 years ago... when it was the old Warrior stance tank.

I was really thinking with MMing in mind at the time.

The reason why I let my energy run to 0 as a necro, is because I know SR will top it up pretty soon. I'm more careful on other casters.
In that respect, it is clearly overpowered and allows what would otherwise be bad play
See, all it takes is a bit yelling and then people agree.
(Sorry, I figured you were really trying to sell SR as not being insane. My bad.)
What I should have used though was "relatively unlimited". The amount of energy a necro gains, although it can all be used up, reaches levels that shouldn't be possible in this game so we might as well call it unlimited.

Yes, id have to agree on AP right there.
SF also get's my vote, yet the QQ would rise if that was well and truely nerfed.

It's good to see people's opinions of all those OP skills out there.

Just take a bat and pommel SF to death. Same with anything and everything fun so that all that'd be left are pokemon/naruto-loving emo n00bs running around asking whether they should take Mending or Healing Breeze.. or BOTH on their missions with H/H. Make GW1 die faster! gogogogo

RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE RED ENGINE GO?

I've thought long and hard and i think SF is fine as it is just for basic running, and as long as it stays that way.

By "basic running" do you mean UW solo? If so yes

I was thinking more along the lines of just running people from town to town, but that could also work, yes.

Who cares? It's PvE!

Take, for instance, Assassin's Promise. Yes, it totally breaks the balancing skills may have due to recharge. Yes, it's effectively infinite energy. But that said, it also allows for FUN builds that do not necessarily seek to maximise their potential.

Those who want to eke out every bit of efficiency WILL take the best skills available to them. Nerf one thing, they'll move on to the next - there is no balance issue like in PvP, AI doesn't complain.

I would have to vote SF, I don't have anything against a class being able to run, solo farm, tank or whatever, I farm quite a bit with my 600 monk and love it. The reason I'm voting for it is because I was just looking in the Farming section and saw a thread on SOLOING the 4h quest in UW. Now we know that UW/FoW are supposed to be considered "elite areas" but we also know that there are and have been many ways of clearing these places very fast and with few people, but when it comes to one char being able to solo arguably one of the hardest/most challenging quests in those areas, well that seems a little silly.

Nobody can say that there are no over powered skills in GW. However I would suggest that nerfing is not the correct solution. What we should see is a better balance between these skills and the correct counter skill, or an introduction of the correct counter skill(s) to zones that are being abused by these skills.

Personally I don't farm but I do think that those that do farm should be left there "over powered" skills. They do make crazy amounts of money but they also put items into the market at more affordable prices then would otherwise happen. Even if some prices appear to be high at least you can log in at almost any time of day and find somebody selling the item your looking for.

Nerf =/= Balance

Reducing skills to a non-viable point (i.e.: Smiter's Boon, Watch Yourself, Shroud of Silence etc.) is not considered 'balance'. It simply means that the Skill Balancer chooses not to care enough to take his (or her) time to program things for the sake of maintaining skills in a viable, usable state. That's one of the many reasons why this game is slowly withering as the fanbase continues to be let down over time with the lack of "effective" skill balancing. If there's not enough man power to support the ongoing GW1 while working on GW2 then quite frankly they all need to make some more money somehow, or make GW2 Pay-2-Play because Freeplay is evidently flawed. We want quality updates, not nerf after nerf after nerf, cutting away at what little variety we have left.

I do believe in skills needing a bit of toning down, but not in total and utter skill assassination.
